The Rota-Loo is a non-flush compost toilet system developed in Australia, using an aerobic system, with rotating bins under the seat that can be easily removed. The liquid is evaporated through the heat generated by the sun absorbed on the back section of the toilet structure.Rota-Loo is approved by councils throughout Australia
NO NASTY SMELLS - When installed correctly, on the northern side of a building, the Rota-Loo provides optimum conditions for the natural hygienic process of composting to occur. It allows for aerobic composting to happen - composting with air. Non - aerobic composting systems are responsible for nasty smells.
NO NEED TO FLUSH - Composting is a natural process which reduces the demand on water supplies and doesn't create any pollution. The system uses gravity and is based below the toilet room. The toilet 'pedestal' is similar to a flush toilet except there is no 'S' bend, cistern or flush button
Every Rota-Loo system consists of a round polyethylene outer tank which has a full access door located on the side. Inside are 6 removable collection bins which are housed on a turntable. The turntable is manually rotated once a bin is full (hence Rota-Loo).
EASY TO USE - The access door on the outer tank is removed, you simply grab the handle of the full bin and easily rotate the turntable one position to the left, and this allows the next empty bin to take its place.
The full bin remains inside the system to continue the composting process and won't be seen again or emptied until all the other bins have been filled and it once again returns to the filling position under the toilet pedestal and waste chute.
FOOD FOR THE GARDEN - The contents of the first full bin are transformed into a humus which can be emptied into a shallow hole in the garden next to non - food producing plants, then return the bin to its' position. It's that simple, there is no raking of the compost involved and maintenance is a breeze.
